Powerboat Instruction

ISA National Powerboat Training Scheme

Our training is practical and theory based and ensures that you will be confident when handling powerboats either on inland or tidal water in varying situations and whether conditions. This course suits all needs whether you have a general interest in waterborne activities or you need to up skill your knowledge base for work or your club.

No previous experience is needed for the Powerboat Level 1 certificate, some experience needed for the Powerboat Level 2 certificate. This is a two day course and where participants are certified at Level 1, they will be invited back for further training and reassessment for Level 2, at no extra cost.

The ISA recommends that no-one under the age of sixteen should be left in charge of any powerboat without appropriate adult supervision. Under Irish law it is illegal for anyone under sixteen to operate a powerboat that is capable of 17 knots or more.
